Classic Series- White Water Spray Skirt (Small, Medium, Large)

From: $30.00

The Classic keeps it simple with our adventure tested Classic Hull, a no fuss seating system, minimalist attachments, and bombproof materials and construction. This is the full white-water spray skirt option.  The spray skirt goes over the rafter’s shoulders and then attaches to the deck via a pex pole.  The pex pole slides into the attached deck, making a rigid circle that the spray skirt pops over.  This particular spray deck cannot be taken off- bringing up the only real down-side to this boat- its a little harder to get into, but it’s still very accessible when compared to a hard sided kayak.  Also, the attached deck is super helpful for laying your pack on and strapping it down because it won’t sink to the bottom of your raft and get wet.  It is the most comprehensive whitewater option in terms of keeping water out of your raft.  With a rain jacket and this spray skirt, you are prepared for the majority of conditions in spring, summer and fall, although if you’re pretty sure you’ll be swimming or you’re heading for a winter adventure, we recommend getting a dry suit.  The classics are capable of up to class III whitewater although if you’re planning on doing primarily whitewater, you might want to consider renting the Gnarwhal.

When in Doubt, Contact Us About Availability

Because of the variability in transit days our business model creates unique challenges for booking software and makes it difficult to display a 100% accurate availability calendar.  If the raft you want isn’t available for your desired dates, please don’t hesitate to contact us directly as it may be an error in our system.  In many cases we can also ship the day after you book and override the default 6 day transit buffer.  We highly recommend contacting us directly for groups of 4 or more as well.  Contact info: 406-272-6468 backcountrypackrafts@gmail.com

The chart below shows our recommended size based on your sit length and the Classic’s fit profile. To determine your sit length, sit against a wall with your legs flat (wearing your preferred paddling shoes) and measure the distance from the wall to your heels. The Classic is sized for a relaxed fit, meaning that a typical paddler in the recommended size can fully extend their legs and not touch the bow unless they point their toes when sitting in the boat. You can size up or down for a more performance or relaxed fit.  Generally the Small (Alpacka) will fit rafters 5’8″ and under, Medium (Yak) will fit rafters 5’8″ to 6′ and Large (Llama) will fit rafters 6′ to 6’3″.  Rafters over 6’3″ should check out the Mule (size XL)
