Classic Series- Self Bailing, Cargo Fly (Small, Medium, Large)

From: $40.00

We built this boat custom to offer a raft that is capable of Class III water and also self bailing.  The T-Zip Cargo Fly/In-Tube storage.  The in-tube storage is a great way to keep your gear dry and lower your center of gravity.  With the upgrade of internal clip in dry bags ($3/day extra for each add-on) this raft becomes a fully capable whitewater raft.

(Please note, we don’t have updated product photos yet, but this raft does include all the features mentioned above).

This raft is still based on the Classic which keeps it simple with our adventure tested Classic Hull, a no fuss seating system, minimalist attachments, and bombproof materials and construction. This is the Self Bailing options so no spray skirt.  There is an inflation section that covers the whole floor and there are small holes in two strips along the floor for water to escape- so you won’t be sitting in it.  This is a great stand alone summer option but if you’re wanting to take a self-bailer somewhere in the fall, winter or spring, we recommend that you rent a dry suit and if you’d like a place to store the gear you need access to throughout the day, check out our 24 Liter Expedition bow bag as an add-on.  If you’re looking for a bigger white water capable, self bailing option check out the all new Ranger.

When in Doubt, Contact Us About Availability

Because of the variability in transit days our business model creates unique challenges for booking software and makes it difficult to display a 100% accurate availability calendar.  If the raft you want isn’t available for your desired dates, please don’t hesitate to contact us directly as it may be an error in our system.  In many cases we can also ship the day after you book and override the default 6 day transit buffer.  We highly recommend contacting us directly for groups of 4 or more as well.  Contact info: 406-272-6468 backcountrypackrafts@gmail.com

(Please note- the specs below are based on classic self bailers without any accessories- we will be updating them soon).  The chart below shows our recommended size based on your sit length and the Classic’s fit profile. To determine your sit length, sit against a wall with your legs flat (wearing your preferred paddling shoes) and measure the distance from the wall to your heels. The Classic is sized for a relaxed fit, meaning that a typical paddler in the recommended size can fully extend their legs and not touch the bow unless they point their toes when sitting in the boat. You can size up or down for a more performance or relaxed fit.  Generally the Medium (Yak) will fit rafters 5’8″ to 6′ and Large (Llama) will fit rafters 6′ to 6’4″.  If you’re looking for something with greater whitewater capability and a spray skirt check out the Gnarwhal series.  Rafters over 6’3″ who want the self bailing option should check out the Ranger.
